Scene 1:

EXT – Outside SSA, Front Entrance

Shot 1:

Raq is casually ambling across the front entrance of SSA, with his hands in his pockets and hoody on. The hoody and his face not being seen creates tension about the mysterious character. The walking will sync in with the next shot so its continuity editing and the character seem smooth and don’t seem glitchy.

Shot 2:

When Raq reaches mid way of walking scene, the camera angle changes to a long-wide shot, and follows Raq until he reaches the sliding doors (Not dolly-shot). Match on action carried onto the next scene.

Scene 2:

INT – Reception Area, between the two sliding doors

Shot 1:

Match on action as camera changes and he walks across the mid-sliding door section. The close-up of the leg scene only to create more tension and keep the audience on the edge of their seats to find out who the figure is.

Shot 2:

Match on action again as Raq reaches the reception area, without hesitating he jumps over the railing, walking straight towards the café steps.

Scene 3:

INT – Café, Near steps

Shot 1:

The camera will be placed facing up towards the steps, Raq will walk down the steps only his legs will be seen to keep the tension building.

Shot 2:

The camera will change, so Raq is facing the elevator door, he will press the button. A cutaway will show the button being pressed in a close up shot. 

Pre-Lim Treatment

The modern day version of Romeo and Juliet, the tragic story about two individuals who can’t be together, but their fates are inter-locked. The target audience for my film are for over 16 year olds, due to it being a violent and may include some strong language. Who are into their romance movies, even action. This movie is jam packed with action scenes and scenes which will bring tears to the audience’s eyes. Most people are into their action/romance movies so the people that will watch my film will be fascinated and satisfied.

This film is about two lovers who are being stopped from seeing or being with each other by her brother who is a well feared man. The main conflict and mission of this movie is trying to evade the brother and be together. This will be shown as very difficult throughout the film due to the brother tracking their every move, and for them this will be the hardest challenge.

The main theme of the film is romance and action, and tragedy. My hook is that straight away in the film I will show the ending of the film to catch the audience’s attention so they will want to watch the whole movie to find out what has happened to trigger that event. The starting off the film will start off with the main character tied up and beaten up. This will create tension in the audience and they will try and find out what’s happened. So for that reason, the audience will keep watching and they will stay at the edge of their seats. The starting video of the individual in the chair will have many different effects to give the hint of the character being dazed and wounded, I will blur at moments and cut off sound to make him seem like he’s dazed. First person view will be used to show his point of view and what he can see.

A timescale will be shown and indication of time change will be shown, in the first scene, the couple will be shown together, happy and smiling. An establishing shot will be used to set the scene and show where the film will take place, in the background it will have calm and loving music to set the mood. Which is happy and romantic. The screen will fade to black as the music fades out also. Then the two individuals will be shown walking together, the screen will split into two. The brother of the girlfriend in the other screen, he is a large figure with a smart suit on which holds connation’s of authority, importance and superiority. As the brother quickly approaches a far shot is used to show the difference between them, then the camera changes to one camera instead of split screen. Various shots are used in the conversation, shot reverse shot, and match on action. The brother takes the sister away in a far shot to create the mood that the girl is being taken away from him, with slow sad music playing in the background to create affect. The boyfriend would have casual clothing on, nothing expensive.

The scene changes, match on action can see while the brother opens the door. Low-key lighting will be used when the individuals steps inside, silent would cover the house.

Pre-lim Synopsis

Silent grows as the individual sitting in the chair curiously looks around. His arms and legs tied tightly, darkness cover’s his eyes. Fearfully he glares around the darkness as a shady figure approaches him slowly holding a large metal object which reflects, making the individual flinch. Large text comes across the screen indicating that the time zone has changed to few days earlier. Two individuals are seen together, a boy and a girl. Smiles thrown all around, such an enlightening event. As the two loved up couples stroll across the street casually, they are spotted by the girl’s brother. Who is a well-known mob boss. The rage can be seen through the brother’s facial expression, as he bolts across the street towards the couple. Bombarding them with violent hospitality. The brother takes his sister and leaves after he makes a death threat to the guy. As he walks away his attention is caught by the shining ring on the guy’s finger. A few hours later, the brother slowly steps into the house as silent is filled in the house. He calls out for his wife as he the voice just echo’s back. Quickly reaching for his Glock 17. He aims around the house searching each room cautiously. The door creeks and the floor board shakes as he steps into the master bedroom. His eyes open wide, full of fear as he notices his wife laying there dead, he approaches her quickly checking her pulse but no hope. He notices something in her hand; it’s the ring from earlier, the one on the sister’s boyfriend’s finger. He has a flashback and his eyes inflame out in rage. He runs out of the house. After meeting up with his friends, they hunt down the guy, as they come across the couple once again. The brother strolls up to the guy as he raises his arm out showing him the ring, straight away the guy bolts backwards attempting to run away. The brother’s friends are right there as they hit and tackle him to the ground. The brother jogs to him stomping him across his face as the screen fades to black. Sweat pours down his forehead like rain, as he slowly opens his eyes .Through his eyes you can see three individuals standing in front of him, looking down at him. The brother crouches down looking right at him as he says something then blowing smoke into his face. The screen fades out, and the film title ‘FILM TITLE’ comes onto the screen.

What have i learnt?

From this preliminary task i have learnt many things from recording techniques and even 

editing. First major thing i have learnt is how to proper record, the different type of

camera shots that can be used for example dolly shots, shot reverse shots, match on action,

all this i was unaware of before i started this course. Next thing i learnt was how to edit

properly and make the piece of work i am doing continuous, without any hiccups. The

software Premier pro was totally new to me before i started this course and now I'm really

excellent at using this software effectively.

Preliminary

Script: The Meet

Actors: Zee / Raq / Many background actors

Setting: Sidney Stringer Academy – Rooftop, Front Entrance, Reception, Café, Inside elevator, Third floor of SSA

Genre: Crime/Action/Thriller

Plot:

Raq is involved with the UK Mafia. He has been sent to the meeting to talk to the Corrupt CIA Agent (Zee) to pickup the launch codes, which are being sold for a large amount of money. He is here for the codes, simple exchange. But not everything goes to plan.

·      (Ext.Day.Outside SSA)

Raq is casually amble’s towards the sliding doors of Sidney stringer academy with his hands in his pockets and hoody on, when he reaches them he walks through them.

·      (Int.Day.inside school)

When Raq casually enters the building, he casually strolls towards the railing hopping over it without hesitation and slowly walking towards the café steps with his head down.

·      (int.Day.Cafe)

Raq suspiciously makes his way around the café area towards the lift. Then looking around before he presses the button, when the elevator arrives he steps inside.

·      (Int.Day.Inside lift)

Raq looks around curiously inside the elevator while it takes him to the top floor, he checks his watch, (Camera zooms into the watch)

·      (Int.Day.Top floor)

Raq steps out of the lift throwing his gaze around the interior, then heading towards the rooftop doors, when he is stopped by the two bouncers.

Bouncer 1: Stop right there!

Bouncer 2: Arms up!

Bouncer pats down Raq.

·       (Int.Day.Hallway towards rooftop)

The bouncer starts to pat down Raq and then gently nods towards him, making Raq follow him through the hallway.

·      (Ext.Day.Rooftop)

Many security guards scattered around the rooftop, you would notice a shady figure staring out into the open, facing the other way. Raq slowly strolls towards the PA.

The PA walks towards Raq.

Raq: Where’s Sully?

PA: Take a seat, he’ll be with you in a minute.

PA points towards the chair.

Raq takes a seat slowly, as he looks around observing the environment.

The shady figure turns around and walks towards the table. He walks with his back straight, a proud smirk on his face, hands swinging by his side. When he reaches Raq, he sits down facing him nodding once casually.

Sully: You took your time, any later and you coulda been dead.

Sully: Yeah, you were always late. You were late for your own damn' funeral.

Raq: Just get to the point, have you got them?

Sully: Son of a bitch, do you know who I am? I'm Sully The Emperor, I was created by blood and fire! I made my bones when you were going out with cheerleaders!

Raq: You’r really funny Sully!

Raq laughs eyeing Sully

Sully: Sometimes I am god, when I say a man dies, he dies the same day.

Raq: Ide prefer to be in a grave in Colombia then be here with you, so get to the point amigo!

Sully: Amigo? I’m not your amigo, maldito.

Raq: You got the papers?

Sully clicks his fingers towards the PA, she brings the papers to Sully, handing them over.

Sully: You got the dollar, puto?

Raq nods, as he reaches into his jacket pocket taking out a cheque sliding it over towards Sully.

Sully: Better be real, cabron.         

Sully hands the cheque to his PA, she goes to check on the laptop then nodding towards him positively meaning its valid.

Sully hesitates to hand over the papers.

Raq: You look nervous!

Sully hands over the papers towards Raq, then eyeing him for a while.

As Raq gets up, a hand grabs onto his shoulder.

Raq: Goddamit Sully.

Sully: You didn’t really think I was gunna’ just let you leave?

Fight scene

Raq faces Sully shaking his head, as he walks off into the exit.
